Final five in the running for 2013 challenge title

Five entrepreneurs are set to present their enterprises to a Dragons’ Den-style panel after making it through to the next round of a business challenge.

The shortlist was selected from dozens of entries in the Evening Gazette’s sixth annual If We Can, You Can Challenge, run by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum.

They will now get the chance to share their business story, plans for growth and long term ambitions with a panel of judges in Stockton on Thursday.

The opportunity will bring the candidates into contact with established entrepreneurs and experts in business services to mentor and advise them on next steps.

The shortlisted firms are:

Tom Riley and Matthew Lloyd, of Whitewash Laboratories Ltd

Tony Brown of Living Sober CIC

Michael Goodchild of Fudge Fancies

Dan Riley of Spearhead Interactive

Amanda Adams of Clothesmac

Sponsored Run keeps Living Sober charity work active

Members of living sober and it’s affiliated family group have all completed a 2k run around Middlesbrough Football Stadium and college in aid of Nacoa, a worthy charity that addresses the needs of children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism or a similar addictive problem. This includes children of all ages, many of whose problems only become apparent in adulthood.
We will update this section when we collect all the money in and have a final figure.

Fundraising Continues

After the sucess of the sponsored swim and the people involved still wanting to do more, living sober has a new fundraising plan underway.

After we swam the English channel in aid of Children in need we decided that was nowhere near enough so after some discussions we have come up with a sponsored swim of over 1000 miles.  Obviously we won’t be doing this all at once but spread over the course of a year.

Keep an eye out for further details.

Fundraising Counted

The sponsorship is now all in, Living Sober has raised £1125 pounds for Children in need through the cross channel swim seen in previous posts.
